Daniel 2:6 However, if you tell me the dream and it’s interpretation…

So, as promised, this blog post is going to reveal the amazing dream God gave me and explain to you the interpretation He gave me.  The bible is riddled with stories of people having dreams that were given by God.  Angels appearing in dreams.  Messages being passed to His people in dreams.  IN fact, Acts 2:17 promises that God will give us all dreams specifically from Him:

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.

Obviously, I am not an old man…. lol, but I don’t think that scripture is limited to old men receiving dreams.  In fact, I know that’s not true because not only I have received dreams, but I know of many young and old, men and women who have had dreams.

Anyway, back to the dream.  I will describe it from the perspective of being in the dream:

I was at the hospital to visit a friend of mine named Matt.  I loved Matt and I wanted him to live.  I realized that in order to stay and visit I needed the right clothes.  I had a shirt on, the one the nurses all wear, but no pants.  I was wearing underwear but absolutely no pants.  Yikes.  I went to my friend Jen who happened to work at the hospital and asked her if she could find me some pants.  She said yes and left but almost immediately returned with two pairs of pants.  A size 8 and a size 9.  She was very clear to explain I needed both of them.  I don’t remember, but somehow I chose a pair even though I was thinking, who needs two pairs of pants and neither of those are my size.  But, I put one of them on and went back to sit by Matt’s bed.  When I got back there was a very creepy man sitting there.  A man in a brown leather jacket.  He looked scary to be honest.  All dark and brooding.  And he was talking in this scary way about scary things, but I couldn’t remember at all what he was saying when I woke up.  The one thing I do remember very clearly was that he took a needle and poked it in the vein of Matt and all this orange juice began pouring out of the IV into Matt’s vein and Matt instantly started convulsing and died.  I desperately tried to call for help, but nothing happened.  And then I woke.

At first I was so confused because I had been told in the past that if a dream is scary it may not be from God at all but just a dream sent from the devil to cause havoc in ones life.  So, my first thing immediately was to pray and ask God for the interpretation if that indeed was for him.  The bible tells us that God gives the interpretation of dreams, not us, so I asked.  I didn’t even try to figure it out on my own.  And immediately I knew two things.  The rest came to me later, but those two things were very clear.  This dream was an answer from God about my prayers as to whether or not I should continue the vitamin C….. Orange Juice in an IV – that one was pretty obvious to me.  The second thing was that He wanted me to go read Matthew 8 and 9.  The full chapters.  BOTH of them.

And so I did.  And I won’t include every story that blew me away in this blog post, if you have a bible, GO READ THEM.  And if not, find biblegateway.com and read them.  What jumped out at me was that every healing act Jesus did in those two chapters was credited to faith.  The faith of the individual who received the healing or the faith of the one asking Jesus to heal someone.  As in the example of a centurion soldier who’s servant was sick and he said to Jesus, I am not worthy to you have you in my home, just heal him from here.  Jesus spoke so highly of the faith the man had.  The one the really got me jumping with excitement was the story of the woman with the issue of blood.  Really, she was in these two chapters!!!  Matt 9:20-22 says:

20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Okay, so now this story had been brought up twice to me in just as many days.  And Jesus specifically says her healing was tied directly to her faith.  Okay, I get it.  And finally, something jumped out at me as if it was a neon sign coming right out of my bible.  Matt 9:12 says:

12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Okay, Lord, I get it.  No Vitamin C, but is it bad for me?  He was so gracious to answer all my questions.  No, the Vitamin C treatments will not harm me physically, but, as Matt in my dream represents my faith, if I continue to put my trust in the treatments to heal me, I would be killing my faith.  God was calling me to have true faith in Him as healer.  Holy crap!!!!!  Really?!  So, this meant that I had to choose between walking in faith in Him, or thinking I would be healed, but going about it by means of natural methods.

I was scared.  And, I prayed asking for confirmation.  I didn’t want to make any bad decisions that would put my life on the line.  And to this day I will never forget just how amazing and faithful Jesus really is for those who believe.  I will share the rest of the story in posts to come.

Oh by the way, in case anyone is curious, the reason I had no pants on is because God was trying to highlight to me that this dream was about my nether region!!!  And the scary man represents my fear.  To which I will expand on later.
