Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him…

As I've been going through this experience, I have received amazing support from my friends and family.  I hope that all of you reading my blog understand just how much you all mean to me, but this blog post is going to mention one person in particular.  And luckily, he gave me permission to use his name and to write about how he fits into this next step of my journey. Isaac Myers is a very dear friend of ours.  He and my husband went to the Catch the Fire School of Ministry together and now ...

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding…

Hi again.  So, as a quick reminder, it had been almost two weeks since I had been told the doctors believed I had cancer.  I had begun eating an almost 100% alkaline diet (part of MY plan).  I had called the naturopathic cancer doctor and had now scheduled an appointment to go see him (again, part of MY plan).  I had scheduled an MRI and CT scan and I had been given a scripture by God to help me understand what was happening and how to stand in His Word and believe in His promises to get through...

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…

Okay, so here is all that God was teaching me as I read Revelations 12 many times during the following 24 hours after He first led me to read it. Obviously there is a similarity between me and the woman under attack in the bible. And a similarity between the war against her offspring. Now, I totally understand that this chapter is all about Jesus His offspring, the church, but, the similarity was just too close to be a coincidence so I asked the Lord, what is it you want me to know? Well, He is ...

Revelations 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say…

So just after the doctors appointment, I was lying in bed one night, holding my iPad, which has become my go to bible because the bible reading software has a reading plan built in and it keeps track of your daily readings for you. So convenient. This particular night, I was feeling really tired. I told God I was tired and didn't feel like reading the three chapters for the night which were in Genesis as I had a few weeks back started a Chronological Reading Plan. I've actually read Genesis ...

Colossians 2:2 That their hearts may be encouraged…

So, after almost two weeks of waiting, I finally get a call from the gynecologists office and they advise me that they couldn’t actually get an appointment with that doctor because of his  schedule, but they did manage to arrange an appointment with a different doctor.  I actually felt quite disappointed because I was so confident in the name meaning healer, but God asked me to look up her name instead.  Turns out, her name is WAY better.  Her name, Stephanie, means “Crowned in Victory”.  So now...

1 Kings 8:61 But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God…

So, about a week later Jason and I are driving home from Caleb's tumble tots class. It's about a twenty minute drive straight up Bathurst for all those who know the area. We have to go through more than ten sets of lights. We are two lights from being home and we stop at a red light and Jason says this is the first red light we have hit. I immediately say out loud "okay God, what do you want us to notice - why are we stopped here". I look around and see a church just in front of us on the cor...

Mark 4:22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed…

On the way home from that strange doctors appointment I immediately resorted to my own knowledge. Despite still having faith in His promise I actually didn't ask Him what to do about it. I asked my mom to swing by the natural health food store and she bought me over $300 in organic vegetables. Trusting in my own head logic I believed that eating a complete alkaline diet would completely irradiate the cancer and so that was the strategy I was choosing to count on for healing. I got home and be...

Job 15:8 – Have you heard the counsel of God?….

Warning, this one is a tad bit longer than all the others because it has a major plot development. It is now September, 2012.  Life is pretty good at this point.  I’m still hopeful and expectant of getting pregnant.  The Catch The Fire conference is next week and a very very good friend of mine is coming to visit for the week.  Another friend from Bermuda that I haven’t actually met yet, but know that it is a divine friendship, is also coming for the conference.  I started having thoughts tha...

Psalms 30:11. You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;

It is now May, 2012. We have been home for approximately a week and I get pregnant. I knew it right away but waited until the actual day I was supposed to have my period to take a pregnancy test. The test of course was positive and I am overjoyed. So much so, I actually posted this photo on facebook. The prayer and forgiveness worked and I am now again walking in my Promise from God. Unfortunately, it wasn't His timing yet as I still had some trials to endure. The next trial was that I be...

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick?…

So, continuing with the story, it is now March, 2012. Jason and Caleb and I take a long road trip out to California to spend Easter and a few months with Jason's family. I am so excited because we LOVE our church family in Cali. We found it here when we were still living in California before God called us to be parents and moved us back to Aurora. And we love it. The teaching is great, the worship is fantastic and we really feel loved and supported by the Pastors, Dave and Michelle White. Thanks...
